Department of Archaeology and Museums, Haryana conducted a two-Day workshop on Heritage Learning at the Bhima Devi Site Complex and Museum, Pinjore. School students were invited to participate in this workshop. Bhima Devi Temple Site Complex that was found in 1974, and later after proper landscaping and gallery set up, was officially opened to public in 2009 is a significant Site museum of the department. Participants observed sculptural art of the museum and did activities like worksheets and treasure hunt in the galleries.
This was an initiative to inculcate in children the sense of appreciation towards Heritage from the grass root level, and sensitize them about the rich cultural heritage of Haryana.
After the interaction sessions, and educative walk inside the complex children explored the gallery collection on their own. The participants who performed nicely in putting their ideas on paper, were given token of appreciation and prizes. Smt. Dheera Khandelwal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Haryana, was the guest of honor and after motivating children, she distributed the prizes and certificates.
The organizing team members Dr.Banani Bhattacharyya, Shri Darbar Singh, Ms. Suruchika Chawla, Mr. Shubham Malik, Mr. Ravikant, Mr. Parveen Kumar, Mr. Gurlab Singh were constantly motivating and supporting participants throughout the workshop.
