Museums

1. State Museum, Kurukshetra
Now the state govt. has decided to set up a State Archaeological Museum at Kurukshetra. The matter regarding transfer of land from tourism department is under process.
2. Site Museum, Pinjore
The remains of ancient temple plinth of Panchayat Plan, Stone/ sculptures and architectural members of C. 8th to 12th Century A. D. have been unearthed as the result of scientific clearness work at Bhima Devi Temple, Pinjore. A site museum is being set up to display the exposed artifacts.The Museum building is complete.It has been got constructed through Haryana Tourism Corporation with a cost of Rs.20.00 Lakh approximately.Interior decoration and display of the artifacts and also land scaping and beautification of adjoining area will be completed in next phase.
3. Zonal Museum, Hisar
With a view to educate and aquaint the general Public with their heritage of the region, a small museum has been set up at Hisar in the Jahaj Kothi, a monument of British Period.

Exhibition

The department organizes exhibitions from time to time to acquaint the general public and research scholars with their glorious part and new discoveries in the field of archaelogy and history. Apart from exhibitions organized with the DPR Haryana on various occasions, the following important exhibitions were also organized by the department:- (i) The exhibition entitled Haryana through the ages was organized at the time of world Heritage Day at the Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh. (ii) An exhibition on the monumental wealth of Haryana was organized at War Memorial Complex, Kala Amb, Panipat at the time of its inauguration. (iii) Rare antiquities, discovered from the excavation at Banawali were sent through Archaelogical Survey of India to display in the Festival of India at London and Moscow. (iv) Unique discoveries of Kunal excavations were displayed at National Museum, New Delhi at the time of World Archaelogical Congress on their demand. (v) Special exhibitions on new discoveries were organized at the time of Geeta Jayanti at Kurukshetra. (vi) Rare and important antiquities of Kunal, Banawali and Agreha were sent to the Archaelogical Survey of India to exhibit at the time of SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Co-operatoin) Archaelogical Conference at New Delhi.
