(i)	  To discover the proto-historical, historical and medieval sites, 
	  monuments and remains, the department conducted village to village 
	  survey and explorations. Under this scheme the department has rec-
	  orded all the archaeological sites and monuments of Hisar,Fatehabad
	  and  Sirsa  districts  and  maximum  villages  of  Kurukshetra  and
	  Jind  Districts. In  the explorations many archaeological  sites of
	  National/International importance were discovered by this department.


   (ii) Under the sporadic exploration programme the department has  visited 
	  all the important sites and monuments of the State. During these 
	  explorations the department also collected a good number of stone and
	  bronze images, terracotta objects,coins and other antiquities for the 
	  State museum.
